The name Cap’s is a tribute to Captain Theodore Knight, the great-grandfather of our founder partner. Cap’s Place was the first Broward County restaurant when Captain Knight landed a large barge that was used to smuggle rum out of the Bahamas during prohibition. It was used as a casino, speakeasy, and finally a restaurant that served Florida seafood with Bahamian influences. Cap’s St. Pete pays tribute to Captain Knight and revivifies the Old Florida way of great seafood with a modern twist.
